Introduction

flyng ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the flyng mobile application (the "App") — a flight deal discovery app that lets you swipe through curated flight deals departing from your nearest airport. When you find a deal you love, save it and tap through to Google Flights to book directly.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using flyng, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all provisions of this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Name: First and last name for your profile
  • Email Address: Required for account creation and authentication
  • Phone Number: Required for account creation and verification purposes
  • Profile Picture: An optional photo you choose to upload for your profile avatar

Location Data — Nearest Airport

flyng uses your location solely to identify your nearest departure airport so we can show you relevant flight deals. Here is exactly how it works:

  • One-time or on-demand access: We request location access during onboarding or when you update your home airport in settings. We do not track your location continuously or in the background.
  • What we store: Only your nearest airport code (e.g., "JFK," "LAX," "LHR") — not your precise GPS coordinates.
  • Manual override: You can set or change your home airport manually at any time in App settings without ever granting location access.
  • User control: Location access can be revoked at any time in your device Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.

Information Collected Automatically

  • App Usage Data: Features used, session duration, swipe interactions, and saved deals
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Authentication Data: Login sessions and security tokens
  • Crash Reports: Error logs used solely for debugging and app stability

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Payment information — all billing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your credit card or payment details
  • Precise or continuous location data — only your nearest airport code is stored
  • Booking data — when you tap through to Google Flights, your booking is between you and Google/the airline; flyng is not involved
  • Contacts — we do not access your device contacts
  • Browsing history — we do not track activity outside the App
  • Social security numbers, government IDs, or financial information

2. How We Use Your Information

Primary Uses

  • Account Management: Creating and maintaining your user account
  • Deal Discovery: Showing you flight deals departing from your nearest airport, personalized based on your swipe history
  • Saved Deals: Storing deals you swipe right on so you can access the Google Flights link at any time
  • Account Tier Management: Using RevenueCat to determine whether you have a free or premium account and unlocking features accordingly
  • Notifications: Sending deal alerts for new flights matching your preferences, if you opt in
  • Transactional Emails: Account confirmations, password resets, and important service updates
  • App Improvement: Analyzing crash reports and usage patterns to improve stability and features
  • Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable laws and regulations

How Saved Deals Work

When you swipe right on a flight deal, flyng saves that deal to your account. From your saved deals list, you can tap through to a Google Flights link that opens the deal in Google Flights (or your browser), where you can review and book it independently. flyng does not participate in the booking, does not collect any payment information, and has no visibility into whether you ultimately book the flight.

3. Account Tiers & RevenueCat

How Tiers Work

flyng offers different account tiers (e.g., free and premium) that unlock different levels of deal access and app features. Your tier is managed through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). flyng never sees, receives, or stores your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment details.

What RevenueCat Receives

  • Anonymous user identifier: A randomly generated ID to link your account to a subscription status
  • Purchase receipt data: Used solely to verify which tier you are entitled to
  • Subscription events: Trial starts, purchases, renewals, and cancellations — used to update your in-app tier in real time

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, phone number, profile picture, location, or saved deals. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following service providers to operate flyng:

Supabase — Database & Authentication

  • Data Shared: Account data including your name, email, phone number, hashed password, profile picture, airport code, and saved deals
  • Purpose: Secure database hosting and user authentication
  • Privacy: Data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure with row-level security, meaning your data is only accessible to your own account

RevenueCat — Subscription & Account Tier Management

  • Data Shared: Anonymous user identifier, subscription status, and purchase receipt data
  • Purpose: Managing your account tier and unlocking premium features
  • Privacy: RevenueCat does not sell your data; data is used solely for subscription management

Apple / Google — App Distribution & Payment

  • Data Shared: Standard app store data; payment processing is handled entirely by Apple/Google
  • Purpose: App distribution, authentication, and in-app purchase processing
  • Privacy: Governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies

Google Flights — Deal Redirects

  • Data Shared: None from flyng. When you tap a deal link, you are redirected to Google Flights in your browser or the Google Flights app. Any data you provide to Google at that point is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Purpose: Allowing you to view and book the deal directly

What We Never Do

  • Sell your personal information to data brokers or third parties
  • Share your data for advertising or marketing purposes
  • Provide your name, email, or location to RevenueCat or any analytics partner
  • Access or store your payment information
  • Track you across other apps or websites

5. Data Retention

  • Active Accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
  • Deleted Accounts: Your name, email, phone number, profile picture, airport preference, and saved deals are deleted within 30 days of account deletion
  • Subscription Records: Subscription history held by RevenueCat and Apple/Google is subject to their own retention policies
  • Crash & Usage Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes, then deleted
  • Anonymized Data: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage patterns may be retained indefinitely to improve the App

6. Security

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS
  • Encryption at Rest: Stored data is encrypted using industry-standard protocols
  • Passwords: Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text
  • Location Minimization: We store only your airport code — never your raw GPS coordinates
  • No Payment Data: We never store payment information; all billing is handled by Apple/Google
  • Access Controls: Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Incident Response: We maintain procedures for identifying and responding to security incidents

Despite these measures, no system is completely immune to security risks. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your device's operating system up to date.

7. Your Privacy Rights

General Rights

  • View Your Data: Access the personal information associated with your account in App settings
  • Correct Your Data: Update your name, email, phone number, profile picture, and home airport directly in the App
  • Delete Your Account: Permanently remove your account and all associated personal data from App settings
  • Change Location Access: Revoke or grant location permission at any time in device Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services
  • Opt Out of Notifications: Disable deal alerts at any time via device notification settings or in the App
  • Manual Airport Selection: Set your home airport manually without granting any location access

GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data
  • Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Right to Object: Object to certain types of data processing

  • Cancel Anytime: Cancel your subscription at any time before the next renewal period
  • Data on Cancellation: Your saved deals and account data remain accessible on the free tier after cancellation

Exercising Your Rights

To exercise any of the above rights:

  • Use the privacy and account controls in App settings
  • Manage your subscription through your device's App Store or Google Play settings
  • Email us at flyngappbusiness@gmail.com for any requests we cannot fulfill within the App
  • We will respond to all requests within 30 days

8. Children's Privacy

flyng is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers, including data processing agreements with our service providers that require them to protect your data to at least the same standard as this policy.

  • Review Period: You will have 30 days to review significant changes before they take effect
  • Continued Use: Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
